Graphic Design
Graphic Design I
Can't draw a straight line? Great! A curved line has more character. Actually, you don't have to be able to draw to take Graphic Design. In this studio course, you'll learn design principles applicable to print and electronic media. You'll apply those principles as you design a brochure, a logo, an ad, a book jacket, a business card, a letterhead, an envelope, and a series of magazine spreads. You'll also study typography, photography usage, color theory, printing paper selection, and computer layout. Jrn. 303, 3 credits, fall semester
Graphic Design II
You've learned the basics of typography, design principles, color theory and desktop publishing. What's next? In this studio course, you'll design magazines and newsletters, logos and newspapers. Advanced work in typography, color, photos and art--including an introduction to illustration techniques--will expand your creativity and design resources. Jrn. 304, 3 credits, spring semester
