Global Ministries Conference
Multnomah sets aside an entire week-without classes-each spring semester for its annual missions conference. The conference gives students opportunities to interact with over ninety missionaries representing thirty-five to forty agencies working worldwide, and informs students of the vital issues and challenges facing global ministries. Missionary or international keynote speakers, as well as relevant workshops, seminars, or panel discussions on a wide variety of topics, address important truths and assist in immediate application to life and ministry. Student music and drama groups add highlights.
Believing that God "has given to us the ministry of reconciliation" (2 Cor. 5:18-20), and that our Lord Jesus Christ has commanded us to "go and make disciples of all the nations" (Matt. 28:18-20), it is Multnomah's conviction that all believers are to participate in God's global purposes.
The annual missions conference exists:
- To draw believers into a deeper love for the Savior (Matt. 22:37; Luke 10:38-43),
- To promote a more pure and genuine love for the world's peoples (Matt. 22:37; James 1:27),
- To expose believers to the options for personal stewardship of God's grace appropriate to their Holy Spirit-given interests, guidance, and gifting (1 Pet. 4:10-11), and
- To encourage a more joyous and passionate engagement through grateful service (James 2:17; 2 Cor. 5:14-15) in what God is doing globally.
In addition to the conference, numerous short-term opportunities are offered to Multnomah students to minister internationally.
