Intercultural Studies
The Bible reveals that God's heart's desire is to bring all nations into relationship with Him. Unquestionably, God expects His followers to be participants in His worldwide purposes. Therefore, Multnomah offers the Intercultural Studies (missions) program to equip students for effective cross-cultural living and ministry.
Multnomah has a long-standing and credible reputation for its missions emphasis, and sees an increasing number of graduates heading to the mission field each year. Observing people in other cultures radically changed by the gospel is truly gratifying. If students sense the Lord directing them overseas or simply wish to increase their vision and broaden their worldview, then they should consider Multnomah.
Mission
The Intercultural Studies Department exposes students to God's global purposes, informs them of ministry opportunities, and prepares them for effective cross-cultural living and ministry.
Study Abroad Options
A South American Studies program is available in the spring semester for Multnomah students through a cooperative program with George Fox University and Bolivian Evangelical University in Santa Cruz, Bolivia’s second largest city. Intercultural Studies majors enrolling in this program will not need to take Cultural Anthropology, World Religions, or Cross-Cultural Practicum at Multnomah.
