MAPS Chaplaincy

Chaplaincy Emphasis

The Master of Arts in pastoral studies with emphasis in chaplaincy training provides a curriculum best suited for entering professional chaplaincy in a hospital, the armed forces, or other settings. Both the Association of Professional Chaplains and the National Conference on Ministry to the Armed Forces require at least 72 semester hours of credit in any seminary degree program accredited by the Association of Theological Schools. Most chaplaincies require a breadth of knowledge of how to work in environments with religious diversity.
