General Circulation Privileges
Selected patrons may check out library materials. Eligible users are current Multnomah faculty, staff, and students, as well as Portland-area residents. Current Multnomah faculty, staff, and students, may borrow our library's resources at no charge. Multnomah alumni may purchase a lifetime library card for $10. Other patrons may purchase annually a $25 library card. Students, faculty, and staff from OPALL consortium schools may borrow library resources with a current school I.D. Agreements with several area colleges exist-please contact the library for more information.
Reserve Materials
Mitchell Library's reserve collection-comprised of books, articles, videos, and tapes assigned by Multnomah professors-is housed at the circulation desk. Each item may be checked out for two hours with one possible renewal, unless another patron requests the item. Reserve materials may leave the library unless otherwise noted. Overnight checkout is allowed a half-hour before the library closes. Fines on overdue materials will accrue at the rate of $1 per hour until returned.
Fines and Fees
To promote efficient use of library materials, fines will be imposed on all library patrons who are delinquent in returning circulated resources. The fine rate is $.25 per item per day for regular circulation items, $1 per video a day, and $1 an hour for reserve materials.
Should an item be lost or damaged, the patron is liable for its replacement cost, plus a $10 processing fee. Failure to adhere to the stated policies may result in the loss of borrowing privileges.
