Though I am a resident of Portland, Oregon, I grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and started guitar lessons in the 4th grade. After learning the basics, I was introduced to Chuck Berry, the Beach Boys and Led Zeppelin. In high school, jazz music caught my ear and I studied with Philadelphia guitarist Frank DiBussolo. I then attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, where I pursued a double major in Business Administration and Music.
After attending Taylor University, I enrolled in the University of North Texas jazz studies program. The focus was on performance, composition and arranging skills. I graduated with a Master’s Degree in jazz studies, guitar performance. After 3 years of Texas heat, the Pacific Northwest called my name and I moved to Portland, Oregon, to be involved in the music scene. I am active in Portland as a freelance guitarist and instructor. I am on the faculty at Mount Hood Community College, Multnomah University, Warner Pacific University, and George Fox University.
