Pastoral ministry continues to stretch me. I’ve come to realize that I serve my people best when I am transparent and share with them my challenges and failings, as well as, my joys and grief. It is freeing to have my identity drawn from Christ and to have His people affirm His love for me through their love.
Current ministry outside class
I have a heart for multiracial/multiethnic ministry. I pastored an ethnic congregation after graduating from Multnomah, and helped create a multiracial congregation by bringing two churches together (Asian and Anglo). I continue to minister at my church with a team of elders and lay leaders and serve as a teaching elder and oversee the transformation ministries of our church. I also assist with leading a network for multiethnic churches/ministries in the Portland/Vancouver metro area.
My wife and I have 5 kids, a dog, and a turtle. We enjoy hanging out and sharing meals with others and camping.
