Russ Lacy is a Vice President for Multnomah University, and fulfils the role of Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Business Officer. In this position he directs all of the financial and investment affairs of the institution, including direct interaction with the board of directors, under the direction of the president.
Before coming to Multnomah University in 2007, Russ experienced a varied background which includes work in public accounting (the latest being a 10 year stint as president of Lacy and Shelton, PC, a regional tax practice in Abilene, TX), for-profit hospital accounting, and various roles as an ordained Southern Baptist minister.
Russ graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX in 1983, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. While there, he was inducted into the Alpha Chi academic honor society. After graduation, he began his public accounting career, and was granted the Certified Public Accountant designation by the State of Texas in 1985. He currently is operating under a certificate from the State of Oregon, and is a member in good standing of the both the American and Oregon Societies of CPA’s.
In addition to his duties at Multnomah University, Russ currently serves as a board member and Vice President for the Association of Business Administrators for Christian Colleges (ABACC), which is a national non-profit organization providing development, networking, and support for Christian Higher Education business officers.
A native of Abilene, Texas, Russ and his wife, Sherrill Lacy currently reside in the Concordia neighbourhood located in Northeast Portland. They are the proud parents of two children, John Lacy and Brittany Lacy Richards, and a new granddaughter, Claire Isley Richards.
