Where I come from

I was born in the Northwest and have developed “webfeet” thinking using an umbrella is a hassle. Growing up, I attended Parochial School in Lake Oswego along with my four siblings. After graduating from a public high school, I earned my BAE from Pacific Lutheran University.

Why I teach at Multnomah

My life’s passion has been to see young people grounded in their faith and influencing the world for Christ. I love teaching at Multnomah where the Word of God is the foundation for all learning. It is exciting for me to be a part of a ministry that seeks to prepare the next generation of teachers to glorify Christ in and out of the classroom.

Current Ministry outside class

I continue to promote living a godly and healthy lifestyle by teaching parents and young people how to honor God in their life choices. I speak at local schools promoting sexual purity and open communication with parents about life’s challenges. I offer Mediation to those who seek to bring resolution and reconciliation to areas of conflict. My husband and I attend Willamette Christian Church in West Linn.

Education and Research

After graduating from Pacific Lutheran University and attending Portland Bible College, I started teaching and coaching volleyball and basketball in Christian Schools. In 1995, I published a health curriculum for junior and senior high school students that is currently being used around the world. In 2004, I produced a video series titled: The Power of Sexual Purity. I am currently working on a Master’s in Conflict Resolution and hope to continue being a peacemaker in my own relationships as well as helping others find peace in theirs.

People who inspire you

I am inspired by people who understand the value of relationship and who are willing to do the difficult work at keeping honest communication as a priority, first with Christ and then with others.

Extra-curricular, non-ministry activities

My husband and I love to run together and often participate in local running events to support good causes. We love deep conversations and friendships that are real and that keep us focused on Christ.

Family or other information

Scott and I have been married for 25 years and have two sons, Christopher (18) a senior at West Linn High school, and Steven (21) a junior at Oregon State University (sorry Duck fans ?). Currently, the only other female in our family is our Golden Retriever Abby who is my confidant and a faithful running partner.
