Here's a post from 2008 about Consitution Day at Multnomah.

Making Sense of the Establishment and Freedom Clauses
Every year we are required by law to do an activity in honor of Constitution Day. In the past, we have held “Prayer at the Flagpole” and have prayed for our nation, but this year we are doing something different. Instead, on September 17 (today for most of you), Multnomah will be hosting a panel discussion on two of the most important and yet, most debated portions of the U.S. Constitution: the Establishment Clause and the Freedom of Religion Clause.
Our very own faculty will be participating in this very important discussion which will take place in the
- Library Lecture Room L-101
- 3:00-4:30 p.m.
- Friday, 9/17/10
Panelists
- Professor Jay Hull, J.D.
- Dr. Daniel Scalberg, Ph.D., History
- Dr. Stephen Kim, Ph.D., Bible
- Dr. Deborah Miller, Ed.D., Education
- Dr. Brad Harper, Ph.D., History
- Dr. Wayne G. Strickland, Ph.D., Theology/Ethics, Moderator
This should prove to be very stimulating...don't miss it!
Prayer At Flagpole?
Most years we put together a time at the flagpole to pray for our country and the concerns of the constitution - but this year we are not formally doing that. However, we encourage you all to get out there and pray together anyway...perhaps you could all go over after the panel discussion?
