What a tremendous challenge to us as disciples of Jesus Christ to be the shining representation of the love of Christ to those around us. I readily admit that I fall short of this and it is a daily work in progress to be more of the Christ-honoring example to my wife, my co-workers, my neighbors, and everyone God has so graciously given me the privilege to serve in His Name.

Dear Alumni,

Dr. Alphonse said in his prayer to the Father, "Some of us don’t have the courage to stand up and speak up for truth and justice." This is a strategic thing to read as I have been listening all morning to issues concerned with Egypt. The prophets were big on justice. Thank God we Evangelicals are learning to speak up as well, late in time, but not too late, I trust. As you may have noticed not all that Israel does as a nation is just with respect to its occupied peoples, the Palestinians, nor is all that its surrounding Arab nations do just, some more than others. Pray for them all, friend and foe alike. Is that not what we are told to do by our Lord and his Apostles? Of course it is. Let's be about it.

Remember, when we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, that there are two nations inhabiting it, both by conquest (whether 22-2400 years ago or in the last 60-some years on the one hand or 1300 years ago on the other). Pray for all their citizens.

And, God bless us all!
