The following is the letter the Multnomah student body sent to their brothers and sisters at New York Theological Seminary after the September 11th, 2001 attacks. The letter accompanied a banner with many handwritten notes from students on it. We pray still that those affected at NYTS will grow in their faith and rely on Jesus more during this difficult anniversary.

Dear Student Body,
Greetings to you in the name of our precious Lord and Savior. We trust and pray this greeting finds you well, and resting in the peace and security of Jesus. Praise the Lord for the comfort He brings in such difficult times. As a student body of Multnomah Bible College and Biblical Seminary, we wanted to take this time to let you know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Being here on the West coast, we have been deeply affected by the tragic events of the past weeks, and we know with you all being so close in proximity to all that is going on, you must be experiencing the affects even deeper.
Our students have been holding prayer meetings regularly since the events and just felt like they wanted to do something more…something tangible. It is so hard being so far removed geographically and yet feeling so close in heart to all that is taking place. We wanted to do something to let you know that we are praying for you during this most difficult time.
Our hope is that this banner, as it is displayed on your campus, will help bring encouragement and comfort to the hearts of your student body as they continue to grieve.
And although we are not able to be there in body, we are with you in thought and prayer. May it be a comfort to you to know that you have brothers and sisters in Christ on the West coast, who are thinking of you. As Believers, we know that there is one who truly knows and feels your pain to the deepest degree, and we are seeking Him today on your behalf. Our prayer is that in Him you would find peace, comfort, strength, and hope. Lean on His everlasting love, and rest in Him.
With Love and Prayers,
The Student body of
Multnomah Bible College and Biblical Seminary
