PORTLAND, Ore. — The Multnomah University Music Department is presenting the Spring 2017 Student Recital and Chamber Choir Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, in the Bradley Hall recital space.

During the Student Recital, our talented music majors will perform the songs they’ve been perfecting all semester. The Chamber Choir will then perform musical selections representing a variety of styles and in languages as wide-ranging as Spanish, French, Hebrew, Shona and English. The concert is free and open to the public with a reception following. The Multnomah University Chamber Choir has a long tradition of excellence in both its masterful musicality and its vibrant commitment to worshipping the Lord. It is a central part of Multnomah’s cultivation of musicians and worship leaders.

Music Professor Meg Dixon is very proud of the effort her students have put into preparing for this concert. “The spring concert is a culmination of all the students’ hard work during the year,” she says. “Every lesson, rehearsal, the hours and hours put into technique, tone development, balance and language — this is the moment they truly get to shine.”

Music, Dixon thinks, is

The Spring Concert will be an enjoyable event for all who attend. Dixon is excited for the unique programming for this year’s performance. “There are some fun surprises in store including first-time solo student performances, complicated foreign languages and a collaboration with our fantastic drum ensemble,” she says.

Please join us for the concert this Tuesday. You can find more information about Multnomah’s music program here.
