I am concerned about the direction that the Christian Church is moving. They are getting away from the dispensational-literal interpretation, moving toward the covenant-philosophical position. Theology is sliding down hill. To make room for changing culture we are changing the Bible to reach the lost. We really don’t need to do that. Humanism and mysticism is creeping in. People who want to go deeper into the Word will begin to explore the mind in all its complexities. The Bible is the mind of God. We need to be occupied with Him.I am very wary of people who use philosophical or mystical terms to explain the Bible. “ultimate reality” “Developing the Holy Spirit within us” “divine consciousness” I believe that Balaam was a mystic that had unusual powers, but not something that we should develop. If we want to have a deep walk with God we need to walk with God like Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Joseph, the prophets, and Daniel, Paul. Forgive me for leaving Jesus out, but He was in a class all His own. He Is God. We are servants, filled with the Holy Spirit, if we want to go that far.
