Be A “Portlandia” Extra – TV Show Filming At Portland’s Multnomah U

Put A Lion On It!

Want to be an "extra" on the TV show Portlandia? Well, here's your chance to appear in a special filming on Multnomah's campus! You won't get paid, but you'll probably have a great day and laugh a lot...and there's the whole cool TV show thing...And yeah, we know it's weird to do this at a conservative Christian college. (Is that irony? Discuss.)

We're especially interested in MU students and recent alums who can wear MU gear and sign an Appearance Release and a Non-Disclosure Statement...and then...Put a Lion on it!

A Message from the Alumni Director

“How could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” Genesis 39:9

I've been enjoying Dr. Lockwood’s book, Unlikely Heroes—Ordinary People with Extraordinary Faith, a Biblical and Personal Reflection on Hebrews 11. Through my read I’ve appreciated the opportunity of getting to know our president more. His unique blend of academic perspective and devotional application, as he identifies the cast of these Old Testament characters—simple, ordinary, flawed people living out extraordinary faith, has been encouraging. Don’t Go To Homecoming?

Student Video Blooper Reel

If you've been reading, you know that we've done a series of videos to promo our 75th Anniversary Homecoming week (That's this week!). Here is the 3rd video below. It's not really a blooper reel as much as it was a trick question for the stars to get them all loosened up. Check out what happens when the director (also a student) tells them to say "Don't go to homecoming."

Advertising Cinco De Mustache

Cinco de Mustache culminates in a multitude of mustachioed men, no mere mirage but a magnificent mass of manliness, merriment, and mastery of the follicle arts.

This year, we students searched pictures of Cincos past and took some of the best we found to create a 5 part advertisement series, as well as one revision of the famous limerick about the Gun Powder Plot of 1605. Enjoy.

Seminary Prof Fraternizing With The Enemy?

Christianity Today just published a little feature on our very own Seminary Professor Dr. Paul Louis Metzger in their May 2011 Issue. (Lesser known fact, it was also written by MU adjunct professor and prolific journalist Cornelia Becker Seigneur!)

Photos Nepal: Spring Magazine Sneak-Peak

Our cover article in the upcoming Spring 2011 issue of Multnomah magazine came with some amazing photos from an alumni family serving in Nepal - Jonathan and Taryn Isensee. There were far too many to put in the Magazine, so we decided to post them at the space below.

Don Brake & The King James Bible – Personal Stories

We all know by now that Dean Emeritus of the Seminary Dr. Donald L. Brake has been busy publishing and speaking during this, the 400th anniversary of the KJV Bible.

It's interesting to wonder why someone would take such a liking to the subject - recently some short essays on the matter were published by the man himself. So, we'll let his words speak for him.
