The World Needs Multnomah University Graduates
Having personally watched the impact MU graduates have on the world around them - sometimes in ministry and sometimes in the marketplace - I become more convinced of my belief that the world needs MU grads. The love and compassion they show for those around them is unsurpassed. I've gotten to watch the change in their lives as they mature and learn during their years working toward a degree. They go off and routinely become the best employees because they have hearts that serve others. They are always learning and always striving to do better.

Every year, as a part of the requirements for dispersing Federal financial aid to students, Multnomah must observe Constitution Day. Some years we hold panel discussions or a gathering around the flagpole in front of Sutcliffe Hall. This year students and faculty will be gathering in the Prayer Chapel for a time of prayer for the nation.

Put A Lion On It!
Want to be an "extra" on the TV show Portlandia? Well, here's your chance to appear in a special filming on Multnomah's campus! You won't get paid, but you'll probably have a great day and laugh a lot...and there's the whole cool TV show thing...And yeah, we know it's weird to do this at a conservative Christian college. (Is that irony? Discuss.)
Warmest of greetings to you from Uganda, East Africa! My greetings today come from Jinja where I am currently serving with a missions team from our church. In addition to our ministry here, I've had the privilege of connecting with Multnomah alumni and have been encouraged to see the work God is doing in and through their lives in building His church around the world. As you can imagine, tracking down students who were here from our founding class in Fall 1936 and graduated with their diploma in Spring 1939 is quite challenging. Many are not well enough to travel, but in this very special 75th Anniversary homecoming week we are celebrating, we are so thankful for the special letter we received from one of these very alum! See what the Class of 1939 has to say to you today!

The following is adapted from a monthly letter sent in June 2011 to donors and friends of Multnomah.
May, with its wonderful commencement celebration, is the most exciting — and the busiest — month of the year for Multnomah University.
It’s when we witness the fruit of our labors, 200 graduates, cross the stage to receive their diplomas and our congratulations. It’s when we replay the stories of the quiet yet relentless grace of God in the lives of malleable students who will extend our mission and vision.

"I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a million times. We have to be faithful in our jobs, but it’s the Lord who recruits for us."
With the words above as her admonishment, Admissions Counselor Lisa Hezmalhalch sent us an email with a word of encouragement via a blog post from a student who will be starting at Multnomah in the TESOL program this Fall semester.

Quotes from the Video
April is an exciting month! We will be hosting an event here on campus called Spring Thaw, where 850 high school students and their leaders will come from all over the Northwest and join 400 of our current students for a time of worship, teaching, and plain old fun.
We have two main goals for this event. First, we want students to grow deeper in their knowledge of God and gain a deeper understanding of His Word. Second, we hope that some of them will become Multnomah students in the next several years. Read the rest of this entry »
