It’s the Magic Water

By Garry Friesen June 9th, 2007

Dear Family & Friends,

I wish that I was a full-fledged capitalistic greedy entrepreneur.  Three more Aslan’s How engagements reminded me that I have a hot commodity waiting to be exploited.  If bottled water sells by the truckload, then bottled magic water should fly off the shelves, if I had shelves.  Why are there so many weddings the summer after someone lives in Aslan’s How?  It is the water, magic water. Congratulations to Caleb & Kat, Carlin & Kristen and Paul & Emily on their upcoming weddings.  They came, they drank, they proposed.  It should be noted that I drink juice and filtered water when at home.  For now, we have decided to keep the water to ourselves and make sure that it is scarce.  Scarcity, as Adam Smith will tell you, always causes the value to rise.  Thus, we will have no problem filling Aslan’s How after our members leave for new roommates and marital bliss.  By the way, our house is filled for next fall with new members Josh Moore, Seth Jacobsen, Joe Snavely and Micah Nims.  Welcome gentlemen to Aslan’s How, have a seat, relax and here is some water for your parched throat.

Garry
