Krazy Kigali Whirlwind

By Garry Friesen March 29th, 2009

Family & Friends,

To a young boy with a new hammer, everything looks like a nail.  Lately, I’ve been Kigali Konscious and everything looks like a “K”.  I joined with our student body and Africa New Life for a African-sized challenge: creating a full book library for Kigali Bible Kollege in Rwanda by their opening day Jan 2011.  Students set a goal of 2009 books by May 15 (graduation day).  Each Monday we give the Kigali Kountdown which reports the number of books kollected.  During our spring break everything sprung and broke loose.  First, about 1,500 usable books came in.  Second, students who were in Portland recorded books for about 25 hours.  We asked God for a river of books and He gave us a flood.  We prayed for a gust of books and He gave us a whirlwind.  We asked God for 2009 books and He busted open the library doors.  At 1:22 pm on Friday March 27, Ali Newby had the privilege of recording book number 2009!  God’s blessing has forced us to a new goal.  What is it?  The Kigali Kommittee is kommencing to rekalkulate in the koming kommittee konference.  But first we are going to Praise God from whom all book blessings flow.

What a blessing to receive so many books, Gary; I’m thrilled for you and I’m sure the kollege will be also.

    Blessings,
