Trailblazers Not Jailblazers
Family & Friends,
The NBA basketball Portland Trailblazers are no longer the Jailblazers. They cut the felons, but then had losing seasons. But losing seasons mean high draft picks. Great draft picks: Brandon Roy, Lamarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden. We are back in the playoffs. I only got to two games at the Rose Garden, but what a duo. Both were against the hated L.A. Lakers and cry baby Cobe who also was second in MVP voting, but we love to hate him. We turned the second victory into a memory at Aslan’s How. The seniors got my graduation gift in the form of dinner at the Red Robin’s near the Rose Garden and then some professional basketball. We arrived at Red Robin’s to a packed house. Unfortunately, our good idea was everyone’s good idea. I stood in line looking forlorn and puppy dog sad. A man at a large table waved to us and pointed to the empty seats at his table. Bonzi Burger and victory over the Lakers – it does not get better than that until the millennial reign. The game had playoff intensity which exploded when Rudy Fernandez took an alley-oop pass in mid-air and did a backward dunk. In the last minutes Roy shut down Cobe and the Blazers pulled away to win by eight.
