Dr. Dan Video – Alumni, Scholarships, and Your Legacy

Quotes from the Video

This spring, we will be hosting an event here on campus called the Student Aid Banquet where we will be celebrating what God has done and is doing in the lives of our students. We will have students give their testimonies and describe how God brought them to Multnomah and tell about what He is doing in their individual lives. Read the rest of this entry »

2010 Student Aid Banquet = Blessings!

As many of you know, a not-for-profit institution of higher education (like Multnomah) does not subsist on tuition revenue alone. Another significant area of operational income is provided by donors who believe in the mission that God has placed before Multnomah. These donors want to see Multnomah students graduate and use their gifts and education to advance the kingdom of God. Many of these donors are alumni, some are companies or foundations, but most are friends of the institution who have been faithful for many years.

  • 436 Donors Attended
  • 16 Students Volunteered
  • $131,462 in Student Aid raised!

Annual Student Aid Banquet

Aside from the many other ways that donors support Multnomah students, one of the most popular is the Annual Student Aid Banquet held at venues in Portland, Oregon every March. This year, following the theme of Dr. Lockwood's President's Annual Report, we were "Moving Forward, Building Momentum". There were great speakers, student testimonials, a video, student-led music, and a fantastic dinner which was paid for ahead of time by still more donors!

What this means is that 100% of the proceeds from the Banquet go directly to Student Aid!

The funds don't go for the electric bill, employee salaries, building costs, or anything other than a fund specifically set aside to lower the cost of attending Multnomah.

Keeping Multnomah Tuition Low

  • Many people don't know this, but it costs Multnomah about $19,202 to educate one student.
  • Tuition and Fees paid by students only cover an average of $14,642
  • This means that there is a "Student Need Gap" of approximately $4,560 that has to be filled in by donors who know that students going in to ministry can not afford higher tuition.

Rejoice with us and remember to thank a donor if you know one - without them, providing a Multnomah education would not be possible.

 One More Thing

We would be remiss if we did a post about giving to student aid, and then didn't show you our online giving tool!
