Professor Teams Up with Students to Translate Dead Sea Scrolls Fragment

Multnomah University students and faculty are taking their study of Scripture to a whole new level.

Professor Karl Kutz has been chosen by the Green Scholars Initiative to translate a fragment of the Dead Sea Scrolls with four of his students. It’s the first time the piece has been given any scholarly attention or critical analysis. Read the rest of this entry »

Caring for the Soul

Once every spring and fall, Multnomah undergrad and seminary students, along with several faculty members, gather together in the JCA Student Center for Day of Prayer. MU cancels classes so students can devote their whole day to connecting with God. The time is not restricted to prayer, though; students are encouraged to commune with the Lord through meditation, reading, writing and worshiping.  Read the rest of this entry »

MU Honors Dr. Dan for 34 Years of Service

Multnomah University held an appreciation dinner for Dr. Dan Lockwood on November 9 to honor him for his exceptional work at MU. Lockwood was the seminary dean for seven years before he served 16 years as president. He taught theology at the University for 34 years. Read the rest of this entry »
