Multnomah University hosted the North Adelaide Rockets on Saturday afternoon, playing each other for the second time in 5 days. The Rockets are from Australia, touring the Portland area this week.
Matt Johnson came off the bench to hit a three pointer to get the Lions going after a slow start. Johnson had 9 points in the first half, but he wasn’t the only one off the bench playing well. Stevie Sansone had a great night of shooting and Bryn Cumberland and Jackson Flah contributed in a big fashion to help Multnomah get a 45-30 halftime lead.
In the second half, both teams played evenly as the Lions cruised to a 81-67 victory. Steve Sansone led the Lions with 23 points on 5 of 8 shooting from behind the arc. Jordan Paris snagged 12 rebounds and Erik Mendoza scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
The Lions are 6-9 on the season and will play in Fairbanks, Alaska on December 17th.
