MULTNOMAH Advances to Final 4 at ACCA Nationals

132-117 win

JOPLIN, MO - 3-6-2014 The Multnomah Lions took on the ACCA defending champion Dallas Christian College Chargers in the opening round of the ACCA National Tournament in Joplin, Missouri on Thursday afternoon.

Multnomah scored 61 points in the first half, but Dallas stayed right with them to take a 63-61 lead into halftime.  The Lions were broke from the three point line in the first half, hitting only 5 of 24 from behind the arc.  Dallas hit a cool 5 of 9 from the three.

In the second half, both teams took six point leads only to fall behind again.  Kristoff Thande connected twice from downtown as did Robert West to get things going for the Lions. Stevie Sansone then just flat took over from everywhere - free throw line, rim and three point line.  The Lions finally stretched their lead to 7 points with 4 minutes to go  and did not look back. MU beat Dallas by a score of 132-117.

Sansone led the Lions with 37 points. Jordan Paris went 3 for 3 from behind the arc to score 13 points and grab 9 rebounds.  Steve Bustrin had 10 assists and 2 turnovers.

The Lions have now won 7 of their last 8 and will face the #1 seed Arlington Baptist College tomorrow at 5:30 PST.
