Completing a degree while caring for the well-being of a family presents unique challenges. Multnomah University offers special support by providing quality, low-cost housing located directly on campus as well as a thriving community of student families to connect with. Our housing is comprised of families spanning the spectrum of backgrounds and situations: from newly-weds, to those well seasoned in their marriage; from couples without children, to empty nesters, to single parent families; from locals, to internationals – all supporting one another as they strive to achieve their academic goals.

The Graduate Resident Director (GRD) for Apartment Style Housing manages the Family Housing complexes. Multnomah also employs a Housing Assistant to focus on community development. Our staff is enthusiastic about building connections in the community and serving as a resource in any capacity that we are able.

Eligibility & Priority

To qualify for Student Family housing, the student must be enrolled three-quarter time in his or her program (9 credits for undergraduates, 6 credits for graduates), and at least one of his/her courses must be residential (not online). All other unit occupants must be either the spouse or legal dependant of the student. Students in traditional programs are given first priority. Students in the Adult Degree Completion Program are given second priority due to having classes only one night per week.

*Applicants must be accepted to Multnomah University, must pay their enrollment deposit, and must subsequently submit a non-refundable $50 housing deposit along with the housing application to be placed on the priority list. Available units are typically offered first based on the student’s priority status and second on the date of the application/deposit submission. Other factors may also be taken into consideration.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact the Assistant Director for Housing at 503.251.6501 or
