Graduate Residence Halls

Multnomah offers the convience of on campus living with the lowered price tag of residence hall housing to our single graduate-level and Adult Degree Completion Program (DCP) students in Lower Memorial Hall! Men reside in the west wing and women in the east wing.

Students make use of gender-specific, shared, dorm-style restrooms and two non-gender-specific shared kitchens. Most of the rooms are single occupancy and also include a sink with vanity mirror. All furnishings are provided (more detailed information is below).

To qualify for Memorial Hall Housing, you must be single and enrolled in at least 1 credit in MU's graduate school, seminary or degree completion program.

Any roommates must also be enrolled as MU grad, seminary or DCP students. No co-ed roommates allowed. 

Application Process

All students must first be accepted to MU and must have paid their enrollment deposit to apply for campus housing.

  • Complete the Housing Appliction
  • Be sure to read the housing Agreement Terms and Fees before submitting the Application
  • Submit the $200 refundable security deposit
  • Student Services will contact you with housing assignment info and move in instructions

Returning students must apply by May 1st to secure housing and avoid additional fees.

New students do not have a deadline, but it is recommened they apply by May 1 for the upcoming Fall term. Later applicants may find availability is limited.

Agreement Terms, Billing & Deposit

  • 9-month lease agreement (August 27, 2015 to May 7, 2016)*

Rent is charged per semester and is applied to the student's account unless the student arranges for monthly payments instead. Financial aid may be applied to housing after tuition and fees are paid.

*Exceptions: Lease dates and billing procedures may be adjusted for non-traditional programs, such as DCP and MAC, according to the program's academic terms.

Pricing (2015-2016 academic year, includes all utilities & MU Wifi)

  • Per Student — Standard Room: $1,850 per semester (1 student per room)
  • Per Student — Single Suite: $1,700 per semester (2 students per room)

*Suites may include extra sitting chairs. 

Shared Kitchen & Bathrooms

Because approximately 12 students are sharing each kitchen, it is HIGHLY recommended that all students bring a decent-sized mini-fridge for their room. (All other small appliances must be used in the shared kitchens due to electrical capacity.) It is also highly recommended that students expect to store most, if not all, of their food and cooking supplies in their room. Some storage space is available in the kitchens, but not enough for every student's supplies. Meal plans are not required, but purchasing at least a partial meal plan is strongly encouraged so that not all of your meals must be prepared in the shared kitchens.

Students should also be prepared to store all of their toiletries in their rooms. There is no storage space in the shared bathrooms.
