Multnomah Biblical Seminary's Institute for the Theology of Culture: New Wine, New Wineskins is co-hosting an event titled Mission In Your Front Yard: Touching Diverse Peoples with the Evangelical Missiological Society. This one-day conference focusing on multi-ethnic ministry in the greater Portland metropolitan area is open to the public and will take place on Saturday, March 12.
Mission In Your Front Yard will include presentations from several ministry leaders. Urban ministry specialist Dr. Richard White of Portland State University will map Portland's front yard from the past to the present. Dr. Paul Louis Metzger, director of New Wine, New Wineskins, will present a Biblical perspective on multi-ethnic ministry. Dr. Mikel Neumann, associate professor of missiology at Western Seminary and the Northwest vice-president of the Evangelical Missiology Society, will serve as moderator for the event.
Several practitioners will share their own personal stories including the problems and pitfalls they experience. At the end of the conference, a few panelists will offer some suggestions on how to apply the information that is shared throughout the conference.
The conference will take place at Multnomah Biblical Seminary in rooms 111-112 of Travis-Lovitt Hall. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the conference will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. General admission is $15.00. Students pay only $7.00.
