Dr. Haddon Robinson will be the commencement speaker at Multnomah Bible College
and Biblical Seminary's upcoming 2007 graduation ceremony. Dr. Robinson is the
Harold John Ockenga Distinguished Professor of Preaching at Gordon-Conwell
Theological Seminary . In 1996, Dr. Robinson was named one of the 12 most
effective preachers in the English-speaking world in a Baylor University
poll. His commencement message is drawn from Proverbs 30:24-28 and titled, "Large
Lessons from Little Creatures."
"Haddon Robinson is one of the finest communicators in the
evangelical world, and I know that our graduates will be blessed by his
commencement message," President Daniel Lockwood said. Dr. Robinson served as
president and taught homiletics at Dallas Theological Seminary prior to
teaching at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He served as director of the
Dallas Youth for Christ, proceeding to serve as the president of the
Evangelical Theological Society in 1983 and on the executive committee as well.
Dr. Robinson has also done extensive work in the areas of
radio and television. He served as a host for the television program Film Festival, and is one of the hosts
for a daily radio program in Grand
Rapids, Michigan.
Presently, Dr. Robinson has written six books, published
articles in various Christian magazines, and edited the Christian Medical Society Journal. He writes regularly for Our Daily Bread , a devotional that goes
to seven million people each month. One of his books, Biblical Preaching is currently used as a text for preaching in 120
seminaries and Bible colleges throughout the world.
The commencement ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday,
May 18 at Rolling
Hills Community
