Multnomah
Bible College
is pleased to announce its first English as a Second Language (ESL) classes
available to the entire community. Adult residents of the surrounding
neighborhood and the greater Portland
area are welcome to enroll in this class. It is designed to help people improve
their English and develop the speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
necessary to be successful in the community and the workplace.
"These classes will be an excellent opportunity for speakers
of other languages in our community to improve English language skills," said
Kristen Hubert, professor of TESOL. "It will also be a source of vital,
real-world experience for Multnomah's TESOL students."
Student-teachers from Multnomah's TESOL (Teaching English to
Speakers of Other Languages) Program will offer beginning and intermediate
level ESL classes. The spring term begins on January 31 with classes held on
Thursday nights. New students are welcome at any time during the term, but are
encouraged to register on January 24, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Multnomah is offering
the classes for free with a $5 charge for materials.
Classes will take place in Rooms L108, L109, and L110 of the Mitchell Library
building on Multnomah's campus, located at 8435 Northeast Glisan Street, Portland,
Oregon. For more information
