Multnomah University is proud to add Letha McCleod to the Multicultural Student Advisor faculty position. This new position will assist Multnomah's students, faculty, and staff in understanding each other better where cultural differences abound. Additionally, the Multicultural Student Advisor will allow Multnomah University to take a positive step forward in ongoing efforts to ensure the success of all students regardless of cultural differences or ethnicity.
Professor McCleod serves as the CASA Supervisor (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and as Community Relations Coordinator with CASA for Children, an advocacy organization for abused and neglected children who are under court protection. Professor McCleod will continue to work at CASA for Children in addition to her commitment at Multnomah. She is a graduate of both Multnomah Bible College (Biblical Theology and Pastoral Studies) and Multnomah Biblical Seminary (M.Div.). Professor McCleod began her position as Multicultural Student Advisor on January 10, 2011.
"I began this position praying for God's direction, and I accepted it because I believe it is His call on my life," Professor McCleod said. "I'm looking forward to God enhancing the truth of the gospel at Multnomah University through further and deliberate development of cross-cultural relationships between students, faculty and staff. My hope is that God will reveal what the University is doing well and what processes need improvement or need to be implemented. I am currently conducting a cultural assessment of the campus via informal interviews with students, faculty and staff. Once this process is complete, I will collaborate with Vice President and Academic Dean of the College, Dr. Wayne Strickland, and others to form an action plan that will represent the racial diversity found in the body of Christ."
