12/3/2011
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Multnomah Lions senior guards Gian Cook and Tyler Yates set new records for Multnomah University men's varsity basketball in doubleheader home games in Lytle Gymnasium on December 3.
All-time Three Point Leader
Tyler Yates became MU's highest all-time three point shooter during the Lion's first game on Saturday adding five three pointers to his career total of 349 made in 1075 attempts (also a record). The record was most recently held by Matt Nelson. Yates' record night led Multnomah to a 100-60 victory over Reed College of Portland, Oregon.
Most Points Scored and Field Goals Made in a Game
Gian Cook scored 61 points in the second game of the doubleheader against the North Adelaide Rockets, breaking the 28-year record of 57 points set by Randy Thompson in 1983. In the same game, Cook set a second record by making 23 field goals, 8-16 from behind the arc. Cook added 7-12 from the free throw line, leading the Lions in their 8th victory of the season against the team from Australia, 110-91.
