Dr. Daniel Lockwood, President of Multnomah Bible College and Seminary, and
the College Academic Dean's Council are pleased to announce that Dr. Nate Baxter
has been named the new professor of Speech Communication for the college. Dr.
Baxter will replace Dr. Jeff Arthurs who will be joining Gordon-Conwell Seminary
in Massachusetts. He has been teaching in the Speech Communication department
at Multnomah for two years.
Dr. Baxter received his B.A. Speech Communication from Willamette University,
his M.A. Speech Communication from Texas A&M University, and his Ph.D. in Communication
& Culture from Indiana University. His major field was Rhetorical Criticism
and Theory, specialty in religious discourse in the public sphere. Minor field:
Religious Studies. Currently he is enrolled for M.A. Exegetical Theology at
Western Seminary. Dr. Baxter was awarded the College Arts and Sciences Outstanding
Teacher/Scholar Fellowship at Indiana University, summer 1998.
