Expanding the Influence of Bible Colleges

7/31/2003

Dedicated to the mission of Bible colleges across the country, Multnomah Bible College and Biblical Seminary President, Dr. Daniel Lockwood, is delighted to serve as President of the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges (AABC).

Lockwood served as Vice President/President-Elect for two years prior to stepping into the presidential role in February 2003.

"I am committed to expanding the cause of undergraduate and graduate-level biblical education not only at Multnomah but across the nation. As President of AABC, I can be involved in an association that gives encouragement and leadership to literally hundreds of institutions--large and small--that are providing vital biblical instruction to tens of thousands of students across a huge evangelical spectrum."

According to Lockwood, AABC is going through some exciting changes under the lead of Executive Director, Dr. Larry McKinney, and it is important that Multnomah be involved in that movement. AABC accreditation remains an important priority for Multnomah, and Lockwood believes that as one of the larger and more well known Bible colleges, Multnomah should take a more active role in the leadership of the accrediting association.

Lockwood chairs the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors, working closely with the Executive Director of AABC. He also presides over the Annual Conference which meets every February in Orlando.

"Serving as President of AABC gives me the opportunity, as Multnomah's president, to connect with a large network of Bible College presidents and administrators that in many ways share our values as a Bible College more than any other single association."
