Dr. Alphonse Newest Faculty Member

Multnomah Bible College has hired Dr. Martin P. Alphonse to fill a full time faculty position as in the Intercultural Studies department. Dr. Alphonse brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Multnomah in the areas of missions, evangelism, and intercultural studies.

He earned his B.A. in Economics at St. Xavier's College and his M.A. in Philosophy at Madras Christian College, India. He received his M.Div. from Union Biblical Seminary, India, and his Th.M. and Ph.D. from the School of World Mission, Fuller Theological Seminary.

Dr. Alphonse has served in pastoral ministries in India and the United States, and currently serves as visiting faculty at the Haggai Institute for Advanced Leadership Training in Evangelism in Singapore and Hawaii.

Dr. Alphonse's missionary experience has been primarily in India and Singapore. He has spoken at evangelism congresses in six foreign countries and every other year he addresses an estimated audience of 200,000 people at the renowned Maraman Convention of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church in Kerala, India. His heart for evangelism led him to serve as the Director of Evangelism for OC International in Colorado Springs for a time as well.

He has published numerous articles and two books. He is currently working on a third book entitled, "Micro Leaders at the Market Place: Biblical Insights for Leadership in Evangelism."

Dr. Alphonse and his wife, Padmini, have an 11-year-old daughter and two college-aged sons in Illinois.
