In this course students will discuss the basis and status of teaching social studies in elementary school; investigate selected educational theories, issues, conceptrs, and learning paradigms; and the implications these have for approaches to curriculum development, lesson planning, and teaching in social studies. Prerequisite: Admission to Education Program.
