Multnomah University now offers three Master’s degrees.
These programs appeal to students with an accredited undergraduate B.A. or B.S. degree desiring to obtain a Master’s.
Master of Arts in Counseling
The MAC program is designed to utilize a practitioner/scholar model that merges faith integration and academic quality while offering practical information from practicing counseling professionals. The program prepares students to meet the requirements for licensure by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors.
Master of Arts in Global Development and Justice
The MA in Global Development and Justice Program is designed to prepare Christian leaders to care for those in need of Christ while engaging in poverty alleviation and emphasizing biblical wholeness and restoration among those affected by injustices.
Master of Arts in Teaching
The MAT program is designed to prepare anyone with an accredited undergraduate B.A. or B.S. degree to qualify for Oregon teaching licensure at the Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle School, or High School level. This program prepares educators to have the knowledge, skills, and disposition
to be successful in the teaching profession.
The ESOL Endorsement program is a 14-semester credit certification program that covers linguistics, grammar, principles of ESOL, teaching oral and written communication, and a teaching practicum which completes the endorsement.
The Reading Specialist Endorsement program is a 14-semester credit certification program that emphasizes reading instruction, development of strategic writers, literacy strategies for all learners, literacy assessments, and includes a teaching practicum for the completion of the endorsement.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
The MA in TESOL program is designed to prepare and send out highly competent teaching professionals who are able to work skillfully with diverse student populations in the U.S. and around the world. Students will learn a balance of preparation in the necessary theoretical aspects of English language teaching and gain extensive
hands-on experience.
