Program Options

Because Multnomah Biblical Seminary was launched to provide a complementary, nonrepetitive seminary option for the Bible college graduate, its master's programs are structured in two tracks.

Standard Track

Designed for the college or university graduate with no formal Bible or theology training. The program includes foundational courses in English Bible, theology, spiritual formation and Greek.

Advanced Track

For the Bible college graduate who seeks a deeper, richer ministry preparation or advanced theological studies. Students enter the second-year curriculum, building on their biblical and theological foundation rather than repeating it. In their second and third years, they go farther in ministry preparation or in preparing for Th.M. or Ph.D. studies, taking advanced level courses or selecting concentrations for deeper enrichment.

Schedule Flexibility

Multnomah offers flexible scheduling to accommodate, as much as possible, work schedules, ministry loads, and family priorities. Because a standard five-days-a-week class schedule often is impractical, the requirements for the Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies and Master of Divinity programs are usually scheduled on Mondays and Tuesdays. The required courses for the standard track students are scheduled Tuesdays through Fridays, with a few courses offered on Wednesdays. The first-year standard track classes also are offered in a two-year, Friday-only schedule and a two-year evening schedule.

Multnomah’s distance education initiative, known as Multnomah Connect, offers courses in online, off-site (Anchorage and Reno), and intensive formats. Intensive courses are scheduled during the Jan term and Summer School in June.

Ministry Internship

The mentored ministry and pastoral internship program takes the hands-on component of ministry training very seriously. Pastoral mentors working with seminary faculty contribute their years of ministry experience to a sequenced, concurrent, and intense internship program that trains students in the ministry.
