In 1936, Dr. John G. Mitchell had a vision, that the Northwest needed a school that would faithfully instruct men and women in the truth of God’s Word. As a result of his continuing vision, Multnomah Biblical Seminary was founded and continues its rich tradition in producing graduates that are academically proficient, Biblically competent, spiritually formed, and culturally engaged!

Degree Programs

Multnomah Biblical Seminary currently offers five seminary degrees including:

Advanced & Standard Tracks

Because Multnomah Biblical Seminary was launched to provide a complementary, non-repetitive seminary option for the Bible college graduates, we offer an advanced track designed to build on your Biblical and theological foundation rather than repeating it.

We also realize that not everyone considering seminary majored in Bible and theology as an undergraduate. For students with limited or no formal Bible and theological training, we offer our standard track to ensure your foundation for ministry is solid!

Scheduling

We also understand that you are likely to be working while pursuing your education. To help you achieve your goals, we offer flexible scheduling. Required second and third year courses for the M. Div. and MAPS programs are typically schedules on Mondays and Tuesdays, though some semesters may include Wednesday courses.

Some required courses and many electives are offered as one and two week intensives that meet during January Term and Summer School (June). Many courses are also available through Multnomah Connect, the seminary's Web-based distance education program.

Pastoral Internship Program

The Pastoral Internship Program is a hallmark feature to a seminary education at Multnomah. Pastoral mentors working with seminary faculty contribute their years of ministry experience to a sequenced, concurrent, and intense internship program that trains students in the ministry.
