Student Health Insurance

Multnomah has great concern for the health and welfare of our students. The University has student wellness and counseling centers to provide support resources for student needs related to physical and mental health. We also realize that many students will have concerns arise that require services beyond those which we can provide on campus. Thus, we require all traditional undergraduate college students who are enrolled with six or more credits and all international students to purchase health insurance through the school, or to provide proof of equivalent coverage through a personal health insurance policy.

As an institution, we have a plan through Aetna. All traditional undergraduate students who are taking six or more credits and all international students will be automatically enrolled in the Multnomah University Student Health Insurance Plan at registration, and the premium for coverage will be included with their tuition bill. If a student has existing coverage under their parents, a spouse, or an independent plan, and does not need the coverage through the school, they will be required to go through a hard-waiver appeal process to ensure comparable coverage. This process can only be completed online after class registration.

Seminary, Graduate and DCP students have the option to enroll in the program at an adjusted rate if they desire.

For more information about the MU Student Health Insurance Policy, you can go to the Aetna Student Health web page and type in Multnomah University, or contact Jana Poling, RN, Wellness Center Director at 503.251.6685.

For graduate, seminary and DCP students who would like to enroll in the MU insurance program, please print this form and return it to the Multnomah University Wellness Center. Students who are enrolling for the fall semester must submit their forms by September 23rd. Please contact the Wellness Center after August 1st if you have any questions or need further information.
