Internships

Multnomah Biblical Seminary values ministry internship as an integral part of seminary training. As a student in the Master of Divinity or Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies, you will enroll in a sequenced and closely supervised internship for academic credit, concurrent with your classes. You will be able to apply insights from faculty/peer interaction in the classroom to real-life experience. You will form a confident, well-balanced approach to ministry as biblical truth moves from theory to incarnation reality.

Ministry Development

The internship presents a vital link in supporting the ministry of the body of Christ. As a seminary student, you will team up with people in ministry in a mentor-protégé relationship. This experiential learning format offers a living process that balances classroom education with supervised ministry. The internship helps prepare you to understand the basic dynamics of congregational life, as well as focus on your ministry specialty. Your ministry setting may include teaching, discipling, leading ministry programs, pastoring, pulpit supply, cross-cultural outreach, or planting churches. Interns work through the dynamics of leading, decision-making, ministry management, problem solving, and conflict resolution. The city of Portland and its surrounding areas provide a wealth of internship opportunities.
