In the evening game, Multnomah welecomed the North Adelaide Rockets from Australia, a group of 19-21 year olds that are playing a 7 game swing in the Portland area. This was the first time in the U.S. for each of their players. After the game both teams shared pizza together and had a great evening. During the game, Gian Cook had a great evening, breaking the school record by pouring in 61 points from all over the court. At the half, the Senior guard had 28 points. With the Lions up by 4 points with seven minutes to go, Cook went crazy scoriing points from inside, outside and the free throw line in an amazing performance. Cook went 23-38 from the field, 8-16 from behind the arc and 7-12 from the free throw line to lead the Lions to their 8th victory on the season.
The former record holder was Randy Thompson who scored 57 points in a game in 1983. The record stood for 28 years.
The Lions are now 8-6 on the year and will face Linfield College on Monday night at 8:00. The JV game is at 5:30.
