The Multnomah Lions squared off with Portland Bible College Tuesday night on the campus of Multnomah University. MU and PBC had split their two previous matchups this year.
PBC came out hot and netted a 10 point lead early in the game, but MU came back with an incredible run by keyed by Davey Walker and Erik Mendoza. Walker connected from downtown 4 times in the first half to score 15 points. Mendoza had a career high 29 points in the first half, hitting on 7 of 10 from downtown. The Lions took a 60-49 lead into halftime.
The second half was a slow drain as MU got to 89 points and then just stopped scoring. Shots didn’t fall and the lead slowly slipped down to 2 points with a minute to go. Jordan Paris then grabbed his 18th rebound of the game and put the ball back in for a 3 point play to put MU up by 5. PBC then came down and hit two straight three’s to take the lead. Davey Walker hit his 8th three of the game to cut it to 106-104 with 1 second left, but that was it.
MU will play NWIC on Friday night at 7:00.
