Lions Fall to River Hawks

Thursday night proved to be much of the same as Tuesday night as the Multnomah volleyball team ran into a very strong and athletic squad from Umpqua Community College (Roseburg, OR).  Once again the Lions were severely out-sized and overpowered by the front line of the River Hawks whose powerful kills made it difficult for the Lions to stay close.

MU struggled to get their feet moving in the first set and was unable to break double digits as UCC took the first set 6-25.  The Lions surged back and stayed close with Umpqua in the second set, but their precise serving proved too much for MU, ending the second set 13-25.  Finally, the River Hawks closed out the night by denying the Lions double digits once again, finishing the third set – and the match – 9-25. 

The Lions are now 2-21 with two matches remaining – both against the Deaconesses from New Hope Christian College (Eugene, OR).
