The Multnomah University Chapel program exists to provide occasions for worship, assembly, spiritual formation and education in community.

    Stan Campbell leads in singing "God of the Ages." Multnomah President, Daniel Lockwood, leads in prayer. Academic Dean, Wayne Strickland announces the recipients of the Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. Deans Dave Jongeward and Karen Fancher announce the recipients of Multnomah Bible College awards. Courtney Rice sings the traditional hymn, "How Great Thou Art." Female baccalaureate speaker, Alaina Arp, speaks from 1 Corinthians 3:2-3 about how Christians should write their life stories to communicate God's truth. Male baccalaureate speaker, Michael Stern, speaks from 1 John 4:9-10 about people's value in Christ.

  • Regaining First Love - Nate Hettinga 5/12/2011

    Dr. Nate Hettinga, pastor of Cascade Community Church, speaks at the New Alumni Celebration dinner. He shares his story about how he fell in love with his wife. Dr. Hettinga reads from Revelation 2 and discusses how Christians lose their first love for Jesus and how they can regain it. He encourages students to stay close to the Savior after graduation.

    Missionary and author of "The Peace Child", Don Richardson, speaks about how cultural compasses point to Jesus. He discusses how these compasses are found in all cultures and aid evangelism. He shares his experiences finding a cultural compass while ministering to the Sawi people.

    Dr. John Robertson leads students in a liturgical Good Friday service reflecting on Christ's humility and work surrounding His crucifixion.     Students watch a video about Skate Church's upcoming missions trip to India. Josiah Johnson, who is part of the Skate Church team, asks students to pray in support of the missions trip.     Noelle Shultz announces the upcoming Service Day for Global Ministries Conference. Dr. Rex Koivisto introduces the 2011 Lonie Friesen Tucker Bible Scholarship finalists Joel Harris, Sky Henderson, Jenae Kaldunski, Joseph Larson, Jonathan Noble, Nathaniel Soohoo-Hui, Ryan Tallmon, and Tyler Walsh. Dr. Karl Kutz moderates the oral Bible contest, in which the finalists answer more than 50 Bible questions. Dr. Brad Harper, Dr. Tom Hauff, and Dr. Ray Lubeck present a scripture reading from 2 Timothy 3.

    Stan Campbell leads students in singing the doxology and hymns thanking God for His gifts. Dr. Dan Lockwood leads students in reciting Apostles Creed and in prayer.
