Annual Events

Some of our annual events include all-College Retreat, Fall Banquet, Junior-Senior Banquet, Saturday in the Park, and Senior Retreat.

All-College Retreat

Multnomah University believes strongly in establishing a healthy, intimate community. We do this by taking the entire student body as well as faculty and staff on a three day retreat to Young Life’s Washington Family Ranch early in the fall semester.

Washington Family Ranch is loaded with amenities including a zip line, huge swing, swimming pool and diving boards, small lake with “the blob”, and a sports complex that includes a rock wall, several sport courts, and a skate park.

Throughout the weekend, students attend spiritually focused sessions where professors take time to share personal reflections on what God is doing their lives. The entire Multnomah community has the opportunity to worship, eat, and play together. This retreat is one of the hallmarks of student life at Multnomah.

Fall Banquet

Our most recent theme was inspired by the Jazz age of the 1920’s. Fall Banquet took place in one of the oldest hotels in downtown Portland and we hosted a local Jazz band.

Students enjoyed food and entertainment while showing off their best 20’s garb. Many faculty and staff get involved and participated with the students.

Junior-senior Banquet

We recognize and celebrate graduating seniors for all of their hard work and contribution to the community of Multnomah. We also recognize the juniors by welcoming and honoring them as they begin their final year at Multnomah.

Saturday in the Park

This event takes place during the first weekend in May. New student leaders rent a park and host a BBQ for the entire student body as well as faculty and staff. The highlight of the event is the annual softball game Dr. Gary Friesen’s hosts for the community.

Senior Retreat

This three day retreat is a special time for seniors to connect and relax as they look forward to graduation. Seniors often tell us that this retreat gave them the needed time to reflect on the previous four years and mentally prepare for the life change of becoming a college graduate.
