Reunions & Chapters

A reunion is a time to reconnect with friends and classmates from your time at Multnomah. Your reunion could be a gathering of classmates from a particular year or decade, or it could be an affinity reunion of friends from an athletic team, music group, course of study, group of RA's, etc.
Alumni may plan class or affinity reunions at any time. The responsibility for planning and organizing reunions belongs to the alumni, but the Alumni Relations office can help you with the event.

Chapters bring Multnomah to a community or network of alumni located in a common region. They are wonderful times of extending the MU family spirit beyond campus.

Planning a meaningful chapter requires two things:

  • A common vision for what the chapter can be
  • One or more people to serve as local coordinators for the chapter meeting
Some chapter activities local coordinators can choose from:
  • Inviting a person of special interest to alumni (such as a professor from Multnomah, an alumnus, or a friend of the school) to share some thoughts and challenges from the Word.
  • Hosting a special time of worship and prayer for one another and the school.
  • Sharing stories and reports of what God is doing on campus and through alumni.

Chapter events are usually hosted once per year. MU's Alumni Relations department, in partnership with the chapter coordinator, develop the details of the events together.

In addition to an annual gathering, the chapter group can determine other methods for ongoing contact (such as emails, phone calls, and gatherings) which maintains a healthy Multnomah family atmosphere among alumni.
Chapters also serve area alumni and MU's placement department by being a touch-point in meeting the needs of alumni and potential employers.
Each chapter can develop an "Area Scholarship" available for students coming to Multnomah from that area. Contributions can be made to an endowment managed by Multnomah, who would still consider input from the chapter.
