Should Chapel Attendance Be Required? Why or Why Not?

Devin Chapman,
sophomore, educational ministries:

"Yes. Leadership goes to great lengths planning chapels to edify the student body."

Ariel Littchen-Pifer,
sophomore, intercultural studies:

"Yes. If we are here for the right reasons, we'd want to go to chapel. So if it's required, big deal."

Danielle Davis,
junior, youth ministry:

"Yes. I think it is important to worship as a community together."

Jessica Lynch,
freshman, intercultural studies:

"I don't think it should matter; people should want to go anyway."

Matthew Forsythe,
senior, speech communication:

"No. There are times when you can't make it, and those who truly want to go will go anyway."

Rachel Daniels,
junior, ed. min.:

"No. It is disrespectful to do homework in the back. Maybe if it [chapel] wasn't required, they would be more inclined to worship."
