Take Time; Become Student Leaders
The rumor going around about me is true. I am engaged to Caroline Anderson, and if you don't know her, I am truly sorry. She is a wonderful person who did amazing things with her time here before graduating this fall. She led us in worship many times and helped lead MCO.
I hope that when I graduate in May, people will say some of the same things about me as they do about her.
Think about the people you respect and naturally look up to at Multnomah. These are the people who have chosen to do more with their time than just go to school. They have invested themselves in you and in your education while learning at the same time.
Most of these people are seniors. Their influence will be gone at the end of the semester, and there will be gap. It is a gap that the rest of you need to fill. From the leadership skills I have seen this year, you are just the ones to guide this school into greater influence in the city and in the world.
At the Stugo elections in March, there will be an opportunity for you to lead and influence the rest of the school. You might be saying, "That's not for me," but seriously think about running.
If you are interested in running for office or just have some questions, stop by the office and talk to us. We will have job descriptions and information packets for you to grab.
In the meantime, our Wednesday meetings at 10 a.m. in the Stugo Conference Room are open. Please come by to learn what we do and to see who we are.
And as always, if you have a proposal to make, a club to start or an event to do, please come by, and we can make that happen.
If you are curious about the events Stugo is going to put on this semester, there will be a calendar in the Stugo office with the dates and details about the events. We will be doing at least two events a month. I am excited for another great semester serving you.
