Multnomah hires assistant dean of women
The new assistant dean of women, Lisa Allison, is excited to get to know Multnomah's students. Allison will be working alongside Karen Fancher 10 to 15 hours a week. Her main duties will be counseling with Multnomah's women, meeting with Dean Fancher and leading a group for women on boundaries. "I'm excited and honored to be here," Allison said. "My prayer and my hope is that I can get to know a lot of the women at Multnomah and be a support to them."
The class Allison will be teaching on boundaries will show women how they can have healthy relationships by setting boundaries. The Monday evening class is an eight-week series. Allison is also teaching "Social Factors in the Family" with her husband, James, on Wednesdays. According to Allison, getting her work finished in 15 hours a week will be the most challenging part of her job.
While working at Multnomah, Allison hopes to connect with the women. "That's my main goal: being a support and help and having a successful group. By successful I mean that it's going to affect their lives positively," Allison said.
Allison graduated from Multnomah in August 1998 with a bachelor of science. She earned her master's degree in counseling at Western Seminary. Her parents are Multnomah professors Tom and Bonnie Kopp. Allison and her husband are planting a church in Wilsonville called Grace Chapel. Her husband is the pastor and she is on the leadership team.
While at work, Beth Coleman has 911 on speed dial.
