New bookstore must focus on students' needs

When the faculty committee members meet to discuss the new bookstore, they must consider the student body's needs. The new bookstore should be more student-focused than is the present bookstore.

The textbook return policy needs to change; a buy back policy is a must. Textbooks are expensive, and a used book section would help students who are strapped financially.

The bookstore needs to have a teacher-recommended section. It would be nice to have sections of books related to the different majors. The sections would be full of books that the heads of the majors recommend. This would benefit students tremendously in their different majors as they build their personal libraries. This would also make the bookstore more practical. We need more books related to the school and not so many Christian bestsellers.

A bigger Bible and theology section is a must for students at a Bible college. Such literature would help us in our classes and also in our studies after graduation.

The bookstore must also be student-friendly. Combine the coffee shop with the bookstore, and make the store bigger and more open. The current store is too small and tight. The addition of couches, chairs and tables would provide a place for students to relax and read.

More students should be employed at the bookstore, and they could run it as they do the cafe. A student-run bookstore would provide more jobs for students and would also ensure that the bookstore remains focused on the school and on students.

The faculty should think about one thing when they are planning the new bookstore... the students.
