MBC Students witness at coffee shops
Multnomah Bible College students are taking the gospel to local coffee shops. Every Friday, following a prayer time, students carpool to coffee shops to share the gospel with patrons.
Jessica Raymond, a part of this ministry, told of a Seventh Day Adventist from Brazil and a Muslim from Lebanon whom she talked to at Coffee Time. "We don't want to argue with anyone; we just want to make them think," Raymond said. Students are building relationships with regular customers each week.
The students spread out in the coffee shops and strike up conversations. "Because of the atmosphere, people are usually in the mood to talk," Dan Graybeal said. Graybeal is one of the students who take part on Friday nights.
This ministry began early this semester. According to Raymond, some students were at Coffee Time, and they realized many of the people there were searching for the truth.
As of this semester, students can earn ministry credit by participating in street witnessing and the coffee shop ministry.
