Multnomah updates phone system

Multnomah's telecommunications department added 30 incoming phone lines this year, doubling the previous number of lines. The department also provided the most advanced upgrade Multnomah's nine-year-old phone system could handle, according to Lee Odell, head of telecommunications.

Mr. Odell said these improvements should ensure that students are able to make and receive off-campus calls. As reported in the February issue of The Voice, students had been complaining of problems making and receiving calls. Although Mr. Odell said the update should improve the system's performance, he emphasized that students must report problems to the department or it is unable to correct them.
